چکیده

Anisotropic Bi segregation, at surfaces of a Cu polycrystal saturated with Bi at 1223 K, changes the Cu equilibrium shape from a faceted spheroid displaying all orientations to an almost polyhedral shape with missing orientations. Surface cleaning, followed by annealing at !573 K, leads to Bi readsorption from some grain boundary sources. ! 2003 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Preconcentration of bismuth(III) and copper(II) by solid-phase extraction and subsequent determination by differential pulse polarography.

A differential pulse polarographic method is proposed for the trace determination of bismuth and copper from large volumes of aqueous samples after adsorption of their 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol complexes onto microcrystalline naphthalene in the pH ranges of 7.2-9.0 and 4.0-7.8, respectively. Bismuth and copper are desorbed from microcrystalline naphthalene with 9 mL 1M HCl. Well-defined pea...

Displacement Fields Influence Analysis Caused by Dislocation Networks at a Three Layer System Interfaces on the Surface Topology

This work consists in a numerically evaluation of elastic fields distribution, caused by intrinsic dislocation networks placed at a nanometric trilayers interfaces, in order to estimate their influence on the surface topology during heterostructure operation. The organization of nanostructures is ensured by the knowledge of different elastic fields caused by buried dislocation networks and calc...

Effects of Degree of Consolidation and Anisotropic Consolidation Stresses on Shear Modulus and Damping Ratio of Cohesive Soils at Low Strain

During consolidation process of saturated cohesive soil the soil stiffness increases. Increase of the effective stress due to dissipation of excess pore pressure causes additional stiffness of soil mass. This phenomenon has a very important effect on the behavior of saturated cohesive soils during dynamic loading. In the current investigation the changes in maximum shear modulus. Gmax and dampi...

Simultaneous determination of copper, bismuth and lead by adsorptive stripping voltammetry in the presence of thymolphthalexone.

A novel, sensitive and selective adsorptive stripping procedure for simultaneous determination of copper, bismuth and lead is presented. The method is based on the adsorptive accumulation of thymolphthalexone (TPN) complexes of these elements onto a hanging mercury drop electrode, followed by reduction of adsorbed species by voltammetric scan using differential pulse modulation. The influences ...

Modeling the copper microstructure and elastic anisotropy and studying its impact on reliability in nanoscale interconnects

Background: Copper is the primary metal used in integrated circuit manufacturing of today. Even though copper is face centered cubic it has significant mechanical anisotropy depending on the crystallographic orientations. Copper metal lines in integrated circuits are polycrystalline and typically have lognormal grain size distribution. The polycrystalline microstructure is known to impact the r...
